Narcotics/Vice Unit 2002 Statistics


In 2002, the Narcotic Vice Unit conducted 1,232 methamphetamine investigations and seized 803 clandestine methamphetamine laboratory incidents.


During 2002, nine (9) weapons were flourished at Narcotic/Vice Unit investigators during an investigation. There were 229 investigations where weapons were present and 424 weapons were seized as a result of investigations.


In 2002, the Narcotic Vice Unit recorded 3,720 incidents. These incidents included 1,072 purchases. Purchases included marijuana, weapons, cocaine, crack cocaine, Adderall, Alprazolam, Amitriptyline, Buspirone, Clonazepam, Darvocet, Diazepam, Dilaudid, Diphenhydramine, Ecstasy, Ephedrine, Hashish, Heroin, Hydrocodone, Hydroxyzine, Ketamine, Klonopin, Lorazepam, Lorcet, marijuana cigarettes, methamphetamine, Psilocybin, Remeron, Ritalin, Roxicet, Soma, Trazodone, Valium, Zoloft and Xanax.


During the year 2002, the Narcotic Vice Unit officers spent $288,361.00 of buy money. The purchases and seizures included 239.49 pounds of cocaine, 4.587 pounds of crack cocaine, 956 ecstasy tablets, 11.988 ounces of ephedrine, 8 grams of hashish, 2.577 ounces of heroin, 24 Hydrocodone tablets, 10 Hydroxyzine tablets, 88 grams of Iodine, 4500 vials of Ketamine, 4 Klonopin tablets, 2541 Lorazepam, 21 Lorcet, 13,351.795 pounds of marijuana, 14 marijuana cigarettes, 1368 marijuana plants, 22.678 pounds of methamphetamine, 24 morphine sulfate, 11 Naproxen tablets, 563 Oxycontin tablets and 2 ounces of Oxycontin seized in a search warrant, 53 Percocet tablets, 280.395 pounds of Pseudoephedrine, .024 pounds of Psilocybin, 2 Remeron tablets, 66 Roxicet tablets, 31 Soma tablets, 33 Trazodone tablets, 47 Valium tablets, 158 Xanax tablets and 34 Zoloft tablets.


There were 24 buy busts, 13 controlled deliveries, 517 consent searches, 66 distributions, one (1) reverse sting, 381 search warrants, and 1,421 other reportable incidents and investigations.


Officers conducted 101 interdiction stops. As a result of these stops, there were 124 Interdiction follow-ups which consisted of interviewing suspects, conducting search warrants as well as performing controlled deliveries. This allowed for multiple follow-up investigations, additional property and drugs seized as well as additional suspects being arrested.
