Traffic Crash Reconstruction Report

A reconstruction traffic crash report is the documented results of a technical, comprehensive investigation into a motor vehicle crash. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Traffic Division, maintains reports of motor vehicle crashes that have been reconstructed by Highway Patrol officers. Local law enforcement agencies' reconstruction crash reports are not maintained by the Highway Patrol and must be requested from the investigating agency. Not all traffic crashes are reconstructed; however, the original crash report will note if a reconstruction was completed and from where the reconstruction report is available. Highway Patrol reconstruction crash reports are generally available within 30 to 45 working days from the date of the crash. To inquire on the availability of a reconstruction crash report and applicable fees for obtaining a copy of the document and/or associated photographs, please contact the Traffic Division at telephone (573) 522-2591. Reconstruction crash reports may be requested from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Traffic Division, Post Office Box 568, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102, Attention: Reconstruction Crash Reports or faxed at (573) 751-9921, Attention: Reconstruction Crash Reports. Please include a return telephone number with your request in case additional information is needed for processing.
