MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT
- October 22-25, 2019
Prerequisite: First-Line Supervision training program.
Course Description: This course is devised to enhance administrative techniques used by managers. Subject matter discussed during this school includes issues in human resource management (ADA, drug testing, legal aspects), assessment centers, sexual harassment, paradigms, leadership styles, media relations, management by objectives (MBO), the One-Minutes Manager, complaint and disciplinary procedures, management principles, management focus, techniques in counseling troubled employees, and the keys to supervising success.
Who Should Attend: The Management Development School is designed for the middle manager of a criminal justice agency. Patrol attendees should be a promotable sergeant or higher, or in an equivalent civilian position.
Tuition/Registration Fees: Registration fees are due by the first day of class. If fees are not paid in full prior to completion of class, certificates and continuing education hours will not be issued unless payment is received.

- 18 hours of Technical Studies
- 4 hours of Interpersonal Perspectives
- 2 hours of Legal Studies
