Behind The Scenes:  Troopers & The Tour Of Missouri

The 623-mile Tour Of Missouri professional road bicycling race began September 8, 2008, in St. Joseph, MO. To assist with security and traffic control, the Missouri State Highway Patrol assigned 10 officers to the entire race on all stages. Approximately 200 additional officers from Troops H, A, D, I, F, and C, were positioned along the route. The detailed planning and cooperation among Missouri’s various law enforcement agencies resulted in a smooth transition from one jurisdiction to the next. The race reached its final destination, (Finish Line), in St. Louis on September 14, 2008. The Patrol was proud to represent the state of Missouri during the third highest profile domestic race in the United States.
