VESSEL 1 HAD JUST REFUELED AND WAS PREPARING TO LEAVE. DRIVER 1 STARTED THE FIRST ENGINE THEN A SECOND ENGINE. AFTER STARTING THE SECOND ENGINE, THE VESSEL EXPLODED EJECTING DRIVER 1 FROM THE VESSEL AND INTO THE WATER. VICTIM KIELY WAS STANDING ON THE DOCK AND WAS THROWN INTO THE WATER. AN EMPLOYEE AT THE GAS PUMP, VICTIM BARTELS, SUSTAINED INJURIES BUT REMAINED ON THE DOCK. VESSEL 1 BECAME ADRIFT AND FURTHER PUSHED AWAY FROM THE GAS DOCK WHERE IT BURNED TO THE WATERLINE. ASSISTED BY CPL. D. D. MATHES (843), SGT. R. R. RYERSON (859), LAKE OZARK FIRE, LAKE OZARK EMS, AND OSAGE BEACH EMS.
