BASIC EXECUTIVE PROTECTION SCHOOL

Course Description: This 48-hour POST course is designed as an introduction for law enforcement professionals assigned (permanently or temporarily) to an executive protection team. The school is limited to 20 students.

The Basic Executive Protection School covers all aspects of performing executive protection details. The school teaches the guidelines and procedures for being a member of a protection unit, tactical formations, advance procedures, practical driving skills, firearm considerations, close quarters shooting techniques, threat assessments and executive protection medical considerations. The school involves various scenarios and participants should report with business attire suitable for public interactions as well as Class C (tactical uniform) or similar attire.

Additionally, this course provides students with one hour of POST training on handling persons with mental health and cognitive impairment issues, one hour of POST training on officer well-being including mental health awareness, and two hours of POST training on de-escalation techniques, crisis management, critical thinking and social intelligence.

Participants wanting to further their knowledge should also enroll in the separate Executive Protection Advanced Courses.

Cost:

  • $1375 - tuition, meals and lodging

Continuing Education Hours:

  • 14 hours of Technical Studies
  • 6 hours of Interpersonal Perspectives
  • 4 hours of Skill development
