Trooper Profiles

Corporal Christine Mcintyre
Corporal Christine McIntyre was appointed to the Patrol on August 1, 1993. She is currently assigned to Troop B, Macon.
"I became interested in becoming a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol after attending a college career fair in Maryville,
Missouri, my senior year after studying Criminal Justice. The recruiters I spoke to presented such a positive image and I still
carry that image with me today. I am proud to be a member of what, I believe, is the premier law enforcement agency in the country.
When I travel, I speak with others in law enforcement, and they are amazed at things like our car program, and diversity of career paths offered within the Patrol.
I want to continue to represent this organization with the same professionalism I saw demonstrated by my recruiters back in 1993."

Trooper Steven Johnson
Trooper Steven B. Johnson was appointed to the Patrol on January 7, 2007. He is assigned to Troop F, Zone 15, Callaway County.
"I originally became interested in the Missouri State Highway Patrol at a young age.
My father is a trooper and the Missouri State Highway Patrol has always been part of my life.
I played competitive sports growing up, so when it came time to apply for a job, finding a
place that incorporates a team atmosphere was important to me. I found that atmosphere at
the Missouri State Highway Patrol. From the training academy, to being part of a zone, working
together is the basic foundation of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. I have become close
with the people I work with, and they truly are a family away from home. I also enjoy the
wide variety of employment opportunities within the Missouri State Highway Patrol. It is
impossible to adequately provide a job description for being a Missouri State Trooper.
It is a challenging and exciting career; each day is a new and different adventure.
I'm glad I selected a career with an agency that provides the training and equipment
necessary to conduct a difficult job, with a reputation of professionalism, integrity,
and compassion."

Corporal Benjamin Jones
Corporal Benjamin Jones was appointed to the Patrol on January 16, 2001.
Corporal Jones is assigned to Troop E, Zone 14, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Team stationed in Sikeston.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol's professionalism and reputation is what made me want to become a trooper.
During my career I have been assigned to the State Fair detail, Gaming Division, and several internships
with the Troop E Interdiction Team. I enjoy the variety of opportunities possible while working with the
Patrol. I am very proud to wear the uniform, and representing the Missouri State Highway Patrol is a great
honor.

Sergeant Demond Tauber
Sergeant Demond Tauber was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1996.
He is currently assigned to the Gaming Division at General Headquarters. He is assigned as an investigator in the western region of Missouri.
"I'm originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, which is a suburb of Washington, DC. I came to
Columbia, Missouri in 1990 and began my college career. While in college, I considered numerous career
paths. However, my personality and general interests led me to law enforcement. My next step was to
decide which law enforcement agency to apply for, as there are literally thousands of local, state and
federal agencies nationwide.
Through research, personal experience, and a ride-along, I decided that the Missouri State Highway Patrol
was the perfect fit for me. Missouri troopers that I met at the time were stand up individuals in the
community, intelligent, athletic, and most of all approachable. The Missouri State Highway Patrol
appeared to be a progressive and professional law enforcement agency.
Over the years, on the Highway Patrol, I've received top-notch training in the use of firearms,
Tasers (electronic immobilization device), and defensive tactics. I'm extremely confident in my
abilities. Furthermore, while assigned to the Gaming Division (riverboat gambling enforcement),
I have received extensive computer training, interview/interrogation training, and specific riverboat
gaming related training.
I'm excited about the future years with the Missouri State Highway Patrol because the Patrol offers
numerous divisions and opportunities for advancement. I've often heard cliché phrases thrown around
about the Missouri State Highway Patrol, such as, 'The Patrol family' and 'The Patrol team'. I truly
believe these phrases are accurate, as I've observed them first hand along with the camaraderie that
develops between fellow troopers."

Trooper Alex Lacey
Trooper Alex Lacey was appointed to the Patrol on October 18, 2004. He is currently assigned to
Troop E, Zone 4, which includes Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, and Scott Counties.
"The Missouri State Highway Patrol's reputation of being the best is what made me want to
become a Missouri State Trooper. My career with the Patrol has given me opportunities in law
enforcement that I would not have experienced elsewhere. I have had the opportunity to attend
numerous training programs, and participate in many different assignments, including the Missouri
State Fair. I recently completed an internship with the Patrol's recruitment program. I am
currently a part-time recruiter, and enjoy speaking with people who are interested in a career
with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Joining the Missouri State Highway Patrol is one of the
best decisions I have made."
