Trooper Profiles

Corporal Christine Mcintyre
Corporal Christine McIntyre was appointed to the Patrol on August 1, 1993. She is currently assigned to Troop B, Macon.
"I became interested in becoming a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol after attending a college career fair in Maryville,
Missouri, my senior year after studying Criminal Justice. The recruiters I spoke to presented such a positive image and I still
carry that image with me today. I am proud to be a member of what, I believe, is the premier law enforcement agency in the country.
When I travel, I speak with others in law enforcement, and they are amazed at things like our car program, and diversity of career paths offered within the Patrol.
I want to continue to represent this organization with the same professionalism I saw demonstrated by my recruiters back in 1993."

Corporal Gara Howard
Corporal Gara Howard was appointed to the Patrol on February 1, 1998. She is currently assigned to the Gaming Division at General Headquarters. She is assigned as an investigator for the western region of Missouri.
"I became a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 1998. With my father as the Andrew County Sheriff, I was exposed to numerous troopers throughout the years. The troopers were professional in their demeanor,
and the uniform always stood out. I set my goal to become a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and pursued it by obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and completing the Basic Law Enforcement Academy.
After completion of the Academy, I worked as a police officer before applying for the Patrol. The Patrol Academy training was hard, but extremely rewarding. The Patrol Academy offers training in Missouri Statutes,
firearms qualification, crime scene investigation, and physical fitness training. I have made this my career path because the Patrol has numerous opportunities to offer such as: Division of Drug and Crime Control,
Gaming Division, Major Crash Team, Drug Interdiction, Training Division, and Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement."

Trooper Chad North
Trooper Chad North was appointed to the Patrol on May 29, 2005. He is currently assigned to Troop F, Jefferson City.
"I was raised in Jefferson City, Missouri, and graduated from high school in 1997. I have always been interested in law enforcement, but what significantly attracted me to the Patrol was the time spent talking with other troopers.
I was very impressed by the troopers’ professional appearance and conduct; they were my biggest motivation to become a member. I began my career at the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2005, and I currently serve as a trooper
in Cole and Callaway Counties. The pay and benefits, among all of the other opportunities, exceed that of most other law enforcement agencies."

Trooper Elizabeth Lusk
Trooper Elizabeth Lusk was appointed to the Patrol on January 8, 2006, and is currently assigned to Troop C, Zone 1, St. Louis County.
"I first became interested in the Patrol when I heard it had one of the best training facilities in the country. The Missouri State Highway Patrol possesses the qualities I look for in an organization. These qualities include duty, honor, loyalty,
integrity, and respect, all of which are important to me. There are a number of reasons why I choose to stay with the Patrol today. Among these are the opportunities for new challenges that are presented to me on a daily basis. Also, as a member,
I feel taken care of, and my family is placed first. It is a job where a person can grow and become a more productive member of society. The most rewarding part of working at the Patrol is when, as a trooper, I am able to stop and help people,
and then see the relieved smiles when they realize they are not alone."

Corporal Demond Tauber
Corporal Demond Tauber was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1996.
He is currently assigned to the Gaming Division at General Headquarters. He is assigned as an investigator in the western region of Missouri.
"I'm originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, which is a suburb of Washington, DC. I came to
Columbia, Missouri in 1990 and began my college career. While in college, I considered numerous career
paths. However, my personality and general interests led me to law enforcement. My next step was to
decide which law enforcement agency to apply for, as there are literally thousands of local, state and
federal agencies nationwide.
Through research, personal experience, and a ride-along, I decided that the Missouri State Highway Patrol
was the perfect fit for me. Missouri troopers that I met at the time were stand up individuals in the
community, intelligent, athletic, and most of all approachable. The Missouri State Highway Patrol
appeared to be a progressive and professional law enforcement agency.
Over the years, on the Highway Patrol, I've received top-notch training in the use of firearms,
Tasers (electronic immobilization device), and defensive tactics. I'm extremely confident in my
abilities. Furthermore, while assigned to the Gaming Division (riverboat gambling enforcement),
I have received extensive computer training, interview/interrogation training, and specific riverboat
gaming related training.
I'm excited about the future years with the Missouri State Highway Patrol because the Patrol offers
numerous divisions and opportunities for advancement. I've often heard cliché phrases thrown around
about the Missouri State Highway Patrol, such as, 'The Patrol family' and 'The Patrol team'. I truly
believe these phrases are accurate, as I've observed them first hand along with the camaraderie that
develops between fellow troopers."
