Troop A is located on US-50 at the MO-291 intersection in Lee's Summit, MO, Jackson County. Troop A is one of the original six troops established in 1931. Its headquarters was first located in Kansas City, but in 1938 was moved to Lee's Summit. There are 137 uniformed officers, 111 uniformed civilians, and 14 civilian employees assigned to this troop.
